Chartered Financial Planner
The Chartered Financial Planner title is awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). It is an exam based qualification which tests technical knowledge on a range of subjects including pensions, investments and taxation and trusts. The Chartered qualification is acknowledged as a level 6 qualification (degree level) by Ofqual.

CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM
The CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM (CFPTM) certification is an internationally recognised qualification in financial planning. In order to qualify as a CFPTM professional candidates have to pass a series of exams as well as write a financial plan for a complex case study. The CFPTM certification process focuses on testing candidates on their ability to meet a clients goals through both immediate and ongoing planning. In this way, the certification is a blend of technical knowledge as well as how to apply that knowledge to a clients situation in a joined up way.
